My Approach
Psychotherapy
As most research shows, the relationship between therapist and client is the most important thing (coupled with a therapist, like me, with extensive training). I am known for being someone that makes people feel comfortable pretty quickly. I think you will find that I truly care about you and your well being.
The people who most benefit from my approach understand that change takes time and therefore, so does therapy. I offer sessions no less than one time per week. Each session is 50 minutes in duration.
My overarching belief is that you are the expert of you and your life. I will support you, as we work together to find ways to make the changes you are seeking. In order to do that, I will be very curious and ask many questions about who you are and what it is you'd like to change.
I am engaged throughout our session and I use humor when appropriate. I utilize an eclectic approach to individual psychotherapy. This means I have many different tools in my toolbox to ensure that you receive the support you deserve. More specifically, I follow the teachings related to psychoanalytic/psychotherapy - relational, object relations, insight oriented and interpersonal schools of thought. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and wellness tools.
Career Counseling
I suggest utilizing career/personality assessments and then use that information to explore more fully how your interests align with your strengths. This provides the information needed to explore the career that works for you.
